I have begun a new painting last night… after having it sitting on my desk for a number of days.
I took a couple of pictures on my cellphone of the work in progress… thought it might be interesting. The first picture here shows the painting with some liquid frisket and an underpainting or wash of red and purples to get the light and dark areas mapped out.

I fill in the background colors (in general washes)…

Then I build up the detail in the background some more…

Last, I keep working in more detail and remove the frisket to put color into the characters.

Still not done, but I will post it when I am finished.
